A naked wild cat from stone age? October 27th, 2011
As you know I am currently (and still for a few days) in Italy, in the Tuscany. It is really a very beautiful place and besides of the fact that I worked hard – actually I don’t even remember the amount of sessions I photographed here with several models – I enjoyed my stay here in this landscape with a lot of variety.
However, equipped only with my laptop that works incredibly slow compared with my computer at home, occupied by the many photo sessions and by the pleasures that Italy offers its visitors (much more than pasta, pizza, wine…) I am once again terribly in arrears with the updates for guapamania…
Yana: wild cat in marble quarry
However, today I published one of the series of the beautiful young model Yana: “Stone Age Wild Cat“.
We were working on a fashion shoot in a marble quarry here in the Tuscany and it was quite cold: the stone is very beautiful, for sure, but at this period of the year it is very, very cold.
Nevertheless Yana undressed and once again revealed her playful and wild sensuality – this time in front of a block of white marble, dusty from the fresh cut, and her young brown body and her black hair form a beautiful contrast – in colors and temperature…
I am talking about the frostiness of the stone here, because I am sure that when looking at those images you will feel anything else but cold! The sexy model acts like a wild cat and wouldn’t there be here boots you could think that you meet an untamed woman from the stone age!

Recently I uploaded two series to guapamania of two women that could not be more different…

what is the beautiful nude girl afraid of?
When you look at her face you could come to the conclusion that the photogapher of this nude must be quite a scary guy.
But I can put your mind at ease. There was no reason to be freightened for the young model, although I took these photos in an absolutely dark room…
In fact I was experimenting with Off-Cam flash, searching for some kind of special effects. I placed the camera on the tripod, turned off the light, opened the cameras shutter with B setting so it stayed open and walked around my model flashing at her several times from different positions. Because of the various flahes there are various shadows, and of course the body of the girl is also lighted from different angles, thus giving a quite nonnatural, or even morbid, charme to the photo.

Of course one can play a lot with this kind of lightning. Especially when there is a little movement like in the image to the right (I released the flash three times during half a minute or so) you get kind of a double-exposure effect. One has to be quite careful, that the changes of the positions of the model between the single flashes are not too big or the image will get really strange…
However, of course I also experimented with more movement, with very strange and different positions of the flash and although I really worked carefully and thought a lot before releasing the flash, some results surprised me: half planned, half by chance.
When the time comes, as always, I will publish the whole series on www.guapamania.com. But meanwhile I am updating the site with some more “classic” nudes

I love black-and-white photos. Back in times, when I worked with negative film – in fact during about 30 years – I loved the process of taking photos slowly and carefully.

On a single film for my analog Hasselblad I could take 12 shots. Imagine! Now I have 32 GB space on a single memory chip and I can click and click and click without even thinking…
When taking photos on black-and-white negative film you have to think before you shoot. You have to take special care about contrasts, control the light, maybe check it using some Polaraoids with the exchangeable camera back… I never used zoom lenses, I thought about perspective, angle, point of view… before pressing the button.
This all has changed a lot. However sometimes I really feel like working in the same manner as I did it for years. Just using a digital camera now (I mostly work with a Canon 5D Mark II). But I take care about the light, I measure the contrasts, I search carefully for the poses and try to compose the images before I click. I get that nostalgic feeling of seriously working and using my photographic knowledge and skills, and I love it!
If you look at the images of the latest series “Catarine: black-and-white nudes” you’ll see a series of images that arn’t even cropped. They are just as they came out of the camera, no changes at all – except of converting to black-and-white and adjusting contrasts as you would do it in the classic dark room.
Sure, the images are sensual and erotic. But when taking these photos I was in a very artistic mood, to say so. I just wanted to make art, nothing else. Have a look, and descide yourself if i reached the goal…
I shoot in raw format. I don’t use any camera effects and so what I get is a color image that I convert to black-and-white using my favorite photo management program digikam.

I’ve put those images that show more explicit details into a separate series. The photos are from the same session, obviously, but for the black-and-white “pure art series” I selected only those images that are not too much focused on intimate details, while the hotter part is here…
Allthough the explicit series contains some images that are very focused on the unshaven pussy of the young italian model, I still consider it as artistic work.
There is always a very small line between art and porn and a lot of people attach the distinction to the fact whether genitals are visible or not. Actually I think the difference lays more in the manner how the things are shown than what is shown, and if you ask me, then these photos are far from beeing porn, although the expression for sure is very sexual.

Then I took advantage of the natural light coming through the window to take some photos in the back-light that accentuates other benefits of this feminine body. Finally she’s in bed with another outfit and some very erotic accessories like a necklace of pearls, long gloves and erotic lingerie. Laura allows to accentuate her sensuality by the black lingerie and the white jewellery and you can see the changes in her face to some expressions of a sexual, adult woman.

As you can see on the photo below, the water on the beaches on the Mediterranean near Barcelona ist still quite cold.
Because of the sun (but also because of the peepers that populate the beaches here and who think – in completely false estimation – that is is very tempting when they point in our direction with their shaven, half erect little boy dicks) the beautiful model and I had to meet very early: at 5:45h, it was still dark, both of us half asleep. But well, the cold water on the beach did it’s refreshing job and the sexy girl soon was more than awake…

I took quite a lot of pictures and I had to copy my compact flash cards to a portable hard disk – that didn’t work!
So the next day I went to buy some additional memory cards. I first took a look in the web and found that such a card would cost approx. 70 Euros in Switzerland. I was quite surprised, when I saw in FNAC that the card costs € 127.00 there. I crossed Plaza Catalunya and went to the 7th floor of EL CORTE INGLES. Now sit back: you know what they want for the same card? More than 200 Euros! Unbelievable! I could afford a flight Switzerland and back, have a nice meal, by the card, and still save some money! Anybody wonders about the crisis in Spain??
Ok, there’s another street with a lot of large and small shops and I finally found the same card for 79 Euros. The difference? Just a blister package instead of a luxurious box, just the card, no additional “free” CD with some Windows-programs nobody really needs.
So finally I didn’t have to fly home, just walk some more minutes. And once again, I realized how important it is to have a good look at the prices, compare the offers and never believe the publicity lies like “always best offer”.
Except, of course, on guapamania.com ! I really try to give realistic descriptions of what I offer there without using superlatives, allthough some of the series would be worth using them. See for yourself!

Either I stand in front of the light and throw ugly shadows on what we really want to see, or the flash stands so near that we must fear about the models life – I don’t really want to cause her an electrical shock, although I guess there would be quite many fetish guys who would enjoy the effect… Well, they still have to search on other sites!
Ok, it’s not easy, I already said so. And from the point of view of a model it is very boring, when the photographer moves around his tripods from one place to the other, still not happy with the result, change again, oh no: harsh shadows, change: sh…, the flash reflects in the wall, change, oh, now there’s no more light on the pussy and the head is bright as hell…. And the model shivers.
No. This wouldn’t work. So, to be honest: I prepared the light before the model came to the session. I first tried to put an object in the shower for the tests, but that didn’t really help. So I endet up using another tripod for the camera, a remote-control in the hand, and me myself naked in the sower. NO! I am not going to publish these test shots! However, I wanted to see the effect of the water on the skin, the flow, the frozen drops… so I had to get out of my clothes and give it a try.
I was very satisfied with the results! Not because I think I am a very beautiful model (I deleted the photos immediately…), but because I did not only find one solution but several. One of the series you can see here now: Laura: shaven girl taking a shower.
Laura has black hair, long legs, a perfect skin, but other models have different hair, different skin, different forms… so they need another light, and if you come back again soon, you can compare my different methods of light with different models. Because finally I really like the limitations this small room imposes on me. I find it quite challenging.
I hope, you’ll find the results quite exciting!
